The Forge Martial Arts Academy in Cheyenne, Wyoming is more than a gym — it's a community of kids, teens, adults, and families training together. Kids learn discipline alongside their parents. Veterans train with first responders. Beginners share the mat with black belts. Everyone is being forged into something stronger.
Our students are local Cheyenne families, working professionals, military and law enforcement personnel from F.E. Warren Air Force Base and surrounding bases, educators, first responders, and a growing number of teen and adult students who came in for the free trial week and stayed.
Three things. Discipline without aggression. Our anti-bullying curriculum specifically teaches kids to be strong without becoming aggressive — a position backed by research published by the National Institutes of Health on structured martial arts training. Tradition with practicality. Students train Shaolin Kung Fu and ITF Taekwondo for traditional depth, then Krav Maga for modern self-defense. Community over consumption. No upsells, no fee-loaded testing, no contracts.
Yes — and we encourage it. Families with 3+ members enrolled get a 20% discount on the monthly rate. Many families bring kids to the 5:30 PM youth class while parents warm up, then parents jump into the 6:30 PM adults class. See family pricing.
The Forge hosts quarterly belt testings (always free), seasonal seminars, and tournament prep camps for ITF Taekwondo competition students. Follow our Facebook or Instagram for upcoming events.
The simplest path is the free trial week — walk in, train with the community for seven days, see if it fits. Most of our long-term students started exactly that way. Read more about JJ Steelman's background or browse the blog.
