The Forge Martial Arts Academy offers teen martial arts and self-defense classes for ages 13-17 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Teens train across all four programs — Krav Maga, ITF Taekwondo, Shaolin Kung Fu, and Muay Thai — with belt progression, competition prep, and real practical self-defense. Multiple class times every week.
Jr. Forge is The Forge's curriculum for teens 13-17, integrating advanced martial arts technique with the practical realities of being a teenager in 2026 — bullying, social pressure, building confidence, channeling energy. Teens get the same lineage instruction adults receive, with age-appropriate intensity scaling.
All included in the $125/month membership.
Yes. The Forge prepares teen students for ITF Taekwondo tournament competition in forms (tul) and sparring. Tournament participation is optional — many students train Taekwondo purely for the discipline, fitness, and self-defense without ever competing.
Yes. All training is supervised with age-appropriate contact levels. Safety equipment is required for sparring (mouthguard, gloves, shin guards, headgear for some drills). The progression model means teens earn higher contact levels through demonstrated control — not just attendance.
Our anti-bullying framework continues into the teen program. Krav Maga in particular gives teens the confidence that comes from knowing they can defend themselves — which paradoxically tends to reduce the need to. See our full anti-bullying article.
Most teen students start with zero martial arts background. Every class scales to your skill level. The 5:30 PM Youth & Teens class is the typical starting point — fundamentals, footwork, basic technique — before adding the higher-intensity 7:30 PM Krav Maga or Tuesday/Thursday self-defense classes.
$125/month for unlimited classes across every program. Belt testing always free. 20% off for families with 3+ members. Pricing details | Free trial week.
